Donate to North Lake Fire Department
On September 3, 2024, the North Lake Fire Department Inc, was created through the merger of the former Dewittville, Hartfield, and Mayville Fire Departments. The newly formed fire department protects around 68 square miles of the Town of Chautauqua, NY including 1/5 of Chautauqua Lake.
The main purposes for the merger can be summarized as: "Safer, Stronger, Together"
> Safer - Improved training opportunities for members and development of robust Health and Safety policies focused on Firefighter Wellness and Retention.
> Stronger - Manpower shortages are a stark reality that is negatively affecting the volunteer fire service across the
nation. We have a great team of active members who are always ready to respond. We have also seen
increased interest from perspective members since the merger.
> Together- By acting as one cohesive unit, we are able to make smart, informed decisions regarding how we can
improve our services and find efficiencies that allow us to better serve our community.
